RALEIGH — The Heart of Carolina (HOC) is a showcase for marching bands to perform in the areas of music, dance, and dramatic showmanship.
This year’s event takes place in Wolverine Stadium on the campus of Wakefield High School, 2200 Wakefield Pines Drive, Raleigh, Saturday, Oct. 3. The band competition will begin at 4:45 p.m. with band performances every 15 minutes throughout the day. The competition will end with an exhibition performance by Wakefield Marching Wolverines and award ceremony at 8 p.m.
Tickets may be purchased on the day of the event at the entrance gate to the stadium. general admission is $10, senior citizens are $7, children 5-10 years old are $5, and free for children 4 years and younger.
Gates open at 2 p.m. Concession options include pizza, cold and hot drinks, baked goods, homemade pork BBQ, funnel cakes and more.
