Have you ever wondered what you would do if given complete power over an island nation?
Well, the creators behind Tropica 5 sure thought about it, and boy is it insane. The publishers of the Tropica series, Kalypso Media, have created an environment that encourages dirty politics.
For instance, you’ve been a great leader, you make the people happy, you’ve increased the food output and everyone has a job, life is good in Tropica. But along comes election day, and your opponent has a nicer beard than you, maybe he’s a little better at dressing like El Presidente or maybe he’s just better than you at getting the vote.
So you have a few choices, you could leave your fate and the fate of the dear island you’ve put so much heart and soul into in the hands of the rabble, or you could get rid of the opposition.
You could rig the election behind the scenes, limit who can vote, or simply off the opponent’s head. The game ends for you when you get deposed, politically or otherwise, so it is vital that you keep control. Owning its niche as the best Caribbean dictator simulation game, Tropica 5 is hilariously dark witted in its imagining of a dictator.
For instance, the teaser trailer of the game reenacts scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean.
The over-the-top humor adds a fun mood to the daily grind of belittling your enemies and building a country from the ground up.
The game introduces Eras for you to explore, your island starts out in the colonial times and works its way up to modern times.
Your Dynasty is the family aspect, who you pass the throne to and how they will act with this new power.
More than 100 different buildings to choose from, lots of research and and a new trade system are some of the things that make Tropica 5 the most refined of all the editions.
Another really cool part of the game is the multiplayer. You and a few of your buddies can share the island and see who becomes supreme leader. You can fight with or against your friends as everyone rushes to build the best empire they can. So come on down and take the reins, rule the air waves, feed your populace false media and generally be a total dictator.
