A Wake Forest man has been charged with intentionally setting a mobile home on fire.
Desmond Vines, 28, Rt. 2, Box 54AB, was first charged April 21 with threatening to burn a mobile home at 410 East Pine Street. According to Wake Forest Police Chief Greg Harrington, Vines made the threat during an argument with the homeowner, Albert Jerome Dent.
Witnesses told police Vines then tossed some sort of burning cloth-like material on the structure, which caused its underside to catch fire.
Town Fire Inspector E.P. Wilson condemned the trailer, said Fire Chief Jimmy Keith. "It's unlivable until repairs are made," he said.
Vines was charged with communicating threats, felony first-degree arson and resisting arrest. He was placed under a total $51,000 unsecured bond.
