WAKE FOREST — Wake Forest Baptist Church is working with the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, N.C. to provide a Christmas tree to families who have a deployed spouse.
The cost of a Christmas tree to an enlisted man is a major expenditure. This is an opportunity for the community to exhibit Christ’s love and demonstrate support of those on the forefront of the defense of our freedoms in a real and tangible manner.
Last year’s Tree Angels for NC Troops program was a resounding success as 90 trees were distributed. This year’s program leaders would like to exceed that number.
This project not only benefits and blesses the servicemen and women, it also benefits the youth of the community. The profits realized are all directed to supporting WFBC’s youth group in underwriting the cost of mission trips and other key activities.
It’s not too late, but act soon, deadline is Nov. 25.
Cost per tree is $55 for a prime Frazer Fir from the WFBC youth tree lot, which includes transportation to Ft. Bragg.
Send checks to Wake Forest Baptist Church, 118 E. South Ave. Wake Forest, NC, 27587.
