WAKE FOREST — Bright Star Touring Theatre, a national touring theatre company, will show two free performances of Bella Under the Bullying Bigtop Oct. 15 at the Wake Forest Community House, 133 W. Owen Ave. Show times are 2:20 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Suitable for children ages pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, Bella Under the Bullying Bigtop is an anti-bullying play with a circus theme.
The program’s premise centers on the circus coming to town. Under the big top, however, things are not going well. A new performer would rather spend his time bullying the performers than building friendships.
Ringmaster Bella works with the audience to develop a number of anti-bullying tools that help teach the importance of teamwork, compassion and respect. Revised for this season, Bella Under the Bullying Bigtop includes original songs, dances and circus-themed interactions.
Space for the shows is limited, so seating is available on a first come basis.
The Bright Star Touring Theatre performances are sponsored by the Wake Forest Parks and Recreation Department and United Arts of Raleigh & Wake County. For more information, call 919-435-9560.
