Carolyn Lynam Mitchell Memory Lewis, 80, of Nags Head, N.C., formerly of Wake Forest, died Monday, April 21, 2014, after a long illness. She was born in Wake Forest and graduated from Wake Forest High School. She was employed by N.C. Department of Revenue, and was property manager at Crosswinds of Atlantic Beach for more than two decades. Carolyn was a member of Glen Royal Baptist Church in Wake Forest.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Michael Mitchell and wife, Kathy; two granddogs, Marathon and Z-Bo, of Kill Devil Hills; brother, Roy Lynam and wife, Donna, of Wake Forest; sister, Dr. Judy Wish and husband, Pete, of Fayetteville; sisters-in-law, Jackie Lynam of Baltimore, Md., and Joyce Marrett of Wilmington; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William M. “Smiles” Lynam and Mary Doris Upchurch Lynam; her beloved son, Al Memory; her husbands, Frank, Sam and Collis; her brothers, William “Bill” Lynam and Tony Lynam, and by her sister, Sandra Buffaloe.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Faile officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
