Charles Edward “Charlie/Chip” Wise, 63, of Columbia, Md., passed away at home Wednesday, June 26, 2013 after a battle with brain cancer. He was born August 12, 1949 in Washington, D.C., the son of Faye Othella Rossi Wise and the late Charles Edward “Buck” Wise.
Wise served in the U.S. Navy after high school. He was a master electrician and a member of IBEW Local Union No. 26. He worked in the construction field and was known for his sense of humor and caring nature.
In addition to his mother, Wise is survived by his wife, Irina Filonova Wise; children, Brodie Chad Wise and his wife, Christine, Angela Wise and Elaina Wise Johnson and her husband, David; eight grandchildren; a brother, William Robert “Bill” Wise and his wife, Theresa; sisters,
Patricia Ann “Patti” Wise and her husband, Patrick Lam, and Margaret Alison “Peggy” Wise Shroyer and her husband, John; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a son, Robert Dale “Bobby” Wise.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 1 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with Father Matt officiating. Burial followed July 2 with military honors at Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
