LOUISBURG — Sarah MacKenzie "Maggie" Wright and Daniel Christopher Sims were married Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 6 p.m. at The Sutherland in Wake Forest. The Reverend Richard Thomas Clayton of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh, officiated.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at The Sutherland Pavilion. On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Heritage Country Club in Wake Forest, followed by an after-dinner party hosted by family friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ralph Glasscock in Youngsville.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Thomas Wright of Louisburg. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Earl Wright of Louisburg, Mrs. Patsy Driver Sutton of Rocky Mount and the late Mr. Jimmie Earl Sutton. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gary Sims of Louisburg. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anthony Szymkewicz of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Mrs. Pam Maready Gentry of Raleigh, and the late Mr. Albert Paul Gentry.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride was attended by her maids of honor, Lauren Elizabeth Beatty of Charlotte and Alexandria Marie O’Brien-Player of Fayetteville.
Bridesmaids were Katherine Stewart Campbell of Laurinburg, Anna Catherine Dickens of Louisburg, cousin of the bride Addie Elisabeth Jones, of Rocky Mount, Macie Lee May and Maghan Place Walker of Raleigh, Carrie Michelle Reavis of Youngsville and Kimberly Baker Sims of Wake Forest.
The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Tyler Kittrick Phelps of Louisburg, brother of the groom Alex Gary Sims, of Wake Forest, Derrick Carson Thompson and brother of the bride John Huntley Walker Wright, of Louisburg, Keagan Ross Warren of Wallace and Ryan Peter Samgour of Greenville.
Guest book attendant was Scottie Marie Goodwin, of Raleigh, and program attendant was Addison Sutherland Griffin, of Louisburg. Reader was Temperance Bonner Pannill, of Wilmington. Greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Ford Perry Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Dale Randall Place, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Day Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. William Jenkins Williamson. Wedding consultants were Mrs. Ashley Bryan Adams of Wake Forest and Mrs. Ann Terrell Cobb Williamson of Louisburg.
Musicians during the ceremony were the Elegant Ensemble Quartet of Raleigh and soloist Edward McKinley Bartholomew II, of Louisburg.
Following the ceremony, the wedding party and guests enjoyed an evening of dining and dancing in the Sutherland Pavilion with music provided by The Bellevue Rhythmaires.
The bride graduated from Peace College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in communication and public relations. She works at The Select Group in Raleigh as a customer experience coordinator.
The groom graduated from East Carolina University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in public health. He is a screening specialist at Viverae located in Dallas, Texas.
The couple honeymooned in Greece and Italy, and reside in Louisburg.
