David Gary Looper, 70, of Raleigh, passed away, Sunday, May 25, 2014, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Durham. He was born in Greenville, S.C., the son of the late Roy Augustus Looper and Willie Edna Snyder Looper. He was a graduate of Millbrook High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Looper retired after 41 years as an export supervisor for Cooper Tools, and was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 4, at 2 p.m., at Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Roberts officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service.
Mr. Looper is survived by his wife of 48 years, Annette Woodall Looper; sisters, Betty Looper Barham and husband, Haywood, of Wake Forest, and Jenny Looper Bruce of Greenville, S.C.; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy “Pete” Looper, Wallace E. Looper and Joe Looper; and sisters, Faye Looper O’Neal and Carolyn Looper Bailey. He will also be missed by the family dachshund, Max, and a special cat named Coby.
