ROLESVILLE — The 401 bypass continues to move toward completion and there are more updates from the contractors performing the work.
N.C. Department of Transportation Engineer David Moore sent the following updates this week:
•Traffic has been switched onto the newly re-aligned Century Farm Rd.
•Paving operations are anticipated at the East Young Street/Rolesville Road area beginning the first part of July. Drivers may encounter some flagging operations during the day and on the weekends.
•Traffic signal work happening will be for the next couple of weeks at the N.C. 96 and U.S. 401 intersection. Flagging operations will occur during the day and staff asks that everyone stay alert while traveling in the area.
•Rock-blasting operations will occur in the next few weeks north of the Jonesville Road area.
This will be in the area behind the Village of Rolesville subdivision and NCDOT will send updates when they have the actual days scheduled.
•The contractor continues to grade and stabilize the roadbed from the Pulleytown Road area north towards N.C. 96.
•Paving continues between Jonesville Road and Rolesville Road.
•The contractor still plans on some nighttime work between Jonesville Road and Rolesville Road this month.
Notification will be sent when actual dates are scheduled for this work.
