WAKE FOREST — The Wake Forest Police Department, 225 S. Taylor St., will accept frozen turkey donations Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to noon, as part of its seventh annual Turkey Drive.
Police officers will be onsite throughout the morning to thank donors and unload the turkeys.
According to Det. M.W. Sattler, founder and organizer of the annual Turkey Drive, the three-hour drop-off event will allow the department to effectively coordinate the storage of the donated turkeys.
The police department will also accept monetary donations and gift cards which will be used to purchase additional turkeys. Checks should be written to the Wake Forest Police Department.
Currently, the department has received enough donations to purchase approximately 400 turkeys.
The police department will distribute the turkeys to disadvantaged families Monday, Nov. 25, from 9-11 a.m., at the Wake Forest Community House, 133 W. Owen Ave.
