Earlene Teasley Merritt, 87, of Raleigh, died May 27, 2014, in Bladenburg, Md.
She was born October 22, 1926, in Raleigh, and was adopted by the late Pompie and Minnie Teasley. She accepted Christ at an early age while attending Corinth United Church of Christ in Youngsville, and she was educated in Franklin County schools.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 4, at New Bethel Baptist Church in Rolesville, with burial following in the church cemetery.
She is survived by seven daughters, Lois Teasley, Janice Squirewell, Laura Bowie (Glascoe), Gertrude, Gloria, Sandra and Angielene Merritt; four sons, Alonzo Jr., William (Fran), James (Clara) and Randy Merritt; and a host of grand children, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
