Mitchell Mill Road mtg postponed

RALEIGH — A public hearing scheduled July 1 on the planned widening of Mitchell Mill Road has been postponed. A new date for the public hearing will be announced when it is determined. The project would widen Mitchell Mill Road between Louisburg Road and Forestville Road to four lanes with a median, curb and gutter. The improvements include sidewalks, striped bike lanes and streetlights on both sides. Also included in the project are turn-lane improvements and culvert replacement at the Forestville Road intersection, a new traffic signal at the Single Leaf Lane intersection and a new water main installation. Construction of the Mitchell Mill Road widening project was approved by Raleigh voters as part of a $75 million transportation bond issue in 2013. Location of projects:   Find out more »

This seminar is for new homeschoolers as well as those interested in learning more about it. Several experienced homeschooling parents will share basic information about reasons to homeschool, N.C. legal requirements, resources and activities, support groups, curriculum choices, styles of homeschooling and more. WAKE FOREST — The Wake Forest Area Runners invite you to the “Lace Up Ur Shoes & Run Fur Some Brews” weekly group run every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the White Street Brewing Company in downtown Wake Forest. We start from the brewery and have a 3.5 mile route available through the historic downtown district. All the turns on the course are marked. After the run, join us for draft beer specials from the White Street Brewing Company. A “runner’s only” $1.50 discount will be available on most pints. NIGHT TIME SAFETY: All runners are asked to wear safety gear such as reflective materials and runner’s lights. Raleigh Running Outfitters extends a 15% discount to all Wake Forest Area Runners.
