Stand Up For America 2014 celebration in Franklinton — Food, fun, fireworks and more for the whole family! WAKE FOREST — Fireworks, games, live entertainment, and a whole lot more await you at this year’s Fourth of July celebration! Now in its 41st year, Wake Forest’s Independence Day celebration is one of our area’s most eagerly-anticipated summer-time events serving up two days-worth of fun and excitement for the entire family. Once again, this year’s celebration is a two-day affair consisting of the following events and activities: Fireworks Spectacular Thursday, July 3; Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Wake Forest High School, 420 W. Stadium Dr. Admission is $5 per person. Children ages 6 and under are free. Children’s Parade Friday, July 4; line-up begins at 10 a.m.; parade starts at 10:30 a.m. Intersection of North Main Street and West Juniper Avenue, near the Wake Forest College Birthplace Art & Games in the Park Friday, July 4; 11 a.m. Holding Park, 133 W. Owen Ave. Notes for Fireworks: No alcoholic beverages, smoking, or pets are permitted on the Wake Forest High School campus. Lawn chairs may be set up in designated lawn and concrete areas inside the stadium. Although blankets are allowed on the track, lawn chairs are not due to the damage they can cause to the track’s rubberized surface. Following the fireworks, no vehicles will be permitted to enter the school grounds until all the traffic exiting the stadium is clear. In case of inclement weather, updated information will be posted on Wake Forest TV 10 . In addition, smart phone users who have downloaded the Town of Wake Forest app will receive a push notification message informing them of any schedule changes. Founded in 1987, we have 44 members who are dedicated to serving the children of the world and our community.
