WAKE FOREST — Forest Moon Theater is holding open auditions for Helium tonight (Thursday), from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the Renaissance Centre, 405 Brooks St., for performances scheduled Sept. 19-22 and 26-27. Helium is a comedy about one of the serious aspects of growing older. It’s the story of Mrs. Molly Kingsley, a retired high school chemistry teacher in her 80s who is struggling with dementia, and navigates her life beyond the boundaries of time and space with consequences both humorous and sobering. Parts are available for three adult female and three younger male actors ages 10-17. Actors have an opportunity to present a short (one minute or less) comedic or dramatic monologue, along with cold readings from the script. Group auditions will be conducted by appointment. For more information, and to schedule an audition, see forestmoontheater.org/auditions. Find out more »
