FRANKLINTON — This year, Franklinton will field one of its toughest soccer teams it has had.
High hopes are on everyone’s mind including head coach Issac Welker.
“We have a great team, most have played together since kid-level leagues thanks to Youngsville Area Soccer and other leagues in the area,” he said.
Welker says he will have 14 players return from last year’s team.
“The potential is there for a great outcome,” he added.
With all-conference performing seniors Ivan Rebollar and Geremais Sanchez leading the squad, they hope to see a playoff berth again this season.
“Our conference should be one of the toughest in 2A,” Welker said.
After inclement weather delayed the season start Aug. 17, the Red Rams will be anxious to host Southern Nash High, Friday, 6 p.m.
