Hardcore gamers like me and my friend on the opposite side of this article are staying on top of a special event taking place this week. It is known as the Electronic Entertainment Expo, E3 for short.
Every year, entertainment companies showcase their upcoming works and debut jaw-dropping information for the masses. All of the big names in gaming will attend including Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony. The people who make the games, such as developers, designers and animators, get to be put on pedestals as well, for a short time of course.
Now it’s not all about gaming but it is the major focus. We get to see phone companies release new products and computer developers showcase brand new features.
That aside, I like to focus on video games for consoles. By the time this article is published, E3 will have ended. Next week I will write about my opinion of E3. For now, I will tell you what I think console gamers should look out for.
First is for my Nintendo fans. Rumor is that a new Legend of Zelda game will be shown. Recently a game called Hyrulian Warriors was released for public viewing.
This is a game that takes place in the Legend of Zelda universe but it is nowhere near the traditional gameplay. Hopefully the rumor is true, but for a different title.
Microsoft has a bigger list this year. Last time they showed a lot of trailers and ended up releasing a few of them.
This E3, many are hoping for demos and solid release dates. I am excited for Halo 5, a new Fable and word is Titanfall is up for a sequel. The Xbox 360 and Xbox One will both sport A-list titles coming up.
The folks at Sony will do everything they can to not be shown up.
With the PlayStation 4 still having a hot lead in sales, Sony boasts about “Epic” announcements coming. New information about Uncharted 4 is expected as well as hopefully a demo for The Order: 1886.
Even before E3 starts, a shocking statement was made by developer Team Ico that a game that most people thought was canceled is still very much in production.
Some gamers may remember a few years ago images for The Last Guardian were posted — yet no new information was ever released afterwards.
The speculation is that this year, we will get definitive info for it.
Expectations are high for E3 but I am keeping my hopes at bay.
My personal favorites are Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3, which have been guaranteed a no-show.
There are still some good games coming out so I will be staying on top of the coverage and relaying info as soon as possible.
Check out Local Gamers next week to find out what games were top shows.
