WAKE FOREST — Just in time to stave off the cold weather, Venture Crew 5 (above) will be selling Brunswick Stew Jan. 17 at Wake Forest Presbyterian Church for $8 a quart as a fundraiser to help offset the cost of youth and leaders going to Winterfest in February.
Winterfest is the largest scout assembly in the U.S. that specifically targets co-ed youth ages 13-21 (Crews and Explorer Posts) through participation in a variety of competitive and social activities.
Sales will begin in the front of the church at 11 a.m. and will end when they run out. Supplies are limited, so get there early. Wake Forest Presbyterian Church is located at 12605 Capital Blvd.
Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 13 and have completed the eighth grade, or age 14 through 20 years of age.
Venturing’s purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
