LOUISBURG — The Heritage Society of Franklin County will be sealing a 100-year time capsule Saturday at noon at Oakwood Cemetery in Louisburg.
The program will include music by Brian D. Miller of Louisburg High School, the Girl Scouts of Franklin County and professional bagpiper Robert J. White.
Scheduled speakers are Diane Taylor Torrent, board chairman of the Heritage Society, Sheriff Jerry Jones and Judge Robert H. Hobgood.
The time capsule, full of contributions from area municipalities, civic groups, churches and individuals, will be sealed by Thomas J. Clancy and staff at Strickland Funeral Home.
The event is free and open to the public. The Heritage Society’s regular meeting, scheduled for Nov. 20, has been canceled.
