FRANKLINTON — A robbery investigation has led to the arrest of Nakisha Nicole Stewart, 27, of 155 Mark Street, Franklinton, and Shakema Teairra Strickland, 22, of 539 TK Allen Road, Louisburg.
Stewart was arrested on warrants by Deputy N. Rinker for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, robbery, breaking and entering and larceny July 7.
Strickland was arrested on warrants by Rinker for armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering and larceny July 12.
Stewart and Strickland were allegedly part of a robbery that was reported on Mount Olivet Church Road, Franklinton, June 10.
According to a previous report in The Franklin Weekly, two unidentified suspects came in behind a 66-year-old homeowner as he entered his house at approximately 4:15 p.m. They allegedly hit him in the head and shot him in the upper back while he was on the floor. The suspects made off with an undetermined amount of money and a firearm.
Stewart and Strickland are being confined at the Franklin County jail on a $150,000 bond and $50,000 bond, respectively. The victim is reportedly out of the hospital and recovering at home.
