Hurley Mae Curtis, 78, of Wake Forest, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 5, 1935, to the late Robert and Mada Hartsfield Massenburg in Wake County.
Curtis is survived by 11 children, Raymond M. Curtis (Arnethia), Hendell Curtis (Freida), David E. Curtis (Cynthia), Aljean Curtis-Cooper (James), Allen T. Curtis (Marcia), Leaster Curtis-Denton (Richard), Rufus W. Curtis (Ebony), all of Raleigh; Angela Curtis-Jones (Billy Ray), Ellen Curtis-Rouse (Jimmy), Mary Curtis-Horton (Dwayne), and Marie Curtis-Jarvis (Myron), all of Wake Forest.
Also surviving are four brothers and sisters, Ailene Garrett (Lester), of Clayton, Magalene Massenburg and Major Massenburg, both of Raleigh, and Robert Lee Masssenburg (Mary), of N.J.; an aunt, Rosa Dozier, of Raleigh; brother-in-law, Frank Curtis (Lillie Ruth), of Wake Forest; sisters-in-law, Ada Massenburg, of Wake Forest, and Katie Fogg, of Zebulon; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, Nov. 29 at Feggins & Feggins Chapel in Wake Forest. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 30 at Friendship Chapel Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Wake Forest Cemetery.
