WENDELL — Franklinton’s volleyball has won three of the past five games.
Starting with a road game in Creedmoor Sept. 2, the Red Rams took on conference rival South Granville.
“South Granville gave us every opportunity to take the match and we did not capitalize,” coach Caitlin Wither said.
The Vikings took the first set 27-29. The Red Rams answered back with a 25-23 win in the second. Franklinton went on to drop the last two sets with a score of 18-25 and 22-25, resulting in a 1-3 loss to the Vikings.
Kaitlyn Branam had 21 digs and nine kills, Brooke Davis had 28 assists and Anna Moss had five blocks and five kills.
Two days of rest served Franklinton well as they managed to knock off Louisburg Sept. 4, in three sets, 25-9, 25-19 and 25-20.

After the strong win over the Warriors, Franklinton hosted Southern Vance High, Sept. 5.
Going four sets again in this match, the Red Rams found a way to pull out another victory with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 14-25 and 25-22, with a match score of 3-1.
Moss had eight kills, two blocks and three aces, Branam had 15 digs and 12 kills and Brooke Davis had 31 assists, seven digs and two kills.
Monday, Franklinton faced former conference foes Corinth-Holders in Wendell.
The Red Rams lost to the Pirates 3-0, but still kept the scores tight at 25-23, 28-26 and 25-15. Branam had 29 digs and nine kills and Tiara Wilkins had 19 digs.
With little time to allow the loss to keep the Red Rams down they took to the road Tuesday for a conference match at Roanoke Rapids High.
Gabriella Davis had seven kills, Branam had six kills, six aces, and 16 digs, Brooke Davis had 31 assists and two kills.
The Red Rams went on to defeat the Yellowjackets 3-0.
Franklinton will face the Eagles today, Thursday, at Warren County. Game time is 6 p.m.
