James Albert “J.A.” Jackson, Jr., 61, of Youngsville, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, at WakeMed as a result of complications from a stroke and declining health. He was born Nov. 26, 1952.
J.A. was friendly, and he was known for telling funny stories and making everybody laugh. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, living and working on the family farm where he was raised. For many years, J.A. drove commercial 18-wheeler trucks and operated heavy equipment for Height Construction Company.
J.A. is survived by his mother, Genavee Jackson; sons, Jimmy Jackson and Johnathan Jackson; daughter, Jennifer Jackson; step-son, Danny Michael Joyner; nephew, Brad Jackson; great-nephew, Braeden Jackson; sister-in-law, Patricia Jackson; grandsons, Justin and Jordan Jackson; step-grandchildren, Angela, Kaitlin, and Bryson Joyner; and special closest friends and caregivers, Garland Canady and Judy Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Jackson; brother, Guy Jackson; and nephew, Bud Jackson.
A graveside funeral service was held Wednesday, July 9, at the Jackson Family Cemetery in Youngsville.
