James Phillip Davis, 88, of Temple Hills, Md., died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014. He was born Aug. 31, 1925, the son of the late Joseph B. and Ella Cash Davis, of Wake Forest.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Post Office.
Phillip is survived by a daughter, Phyllis, and her husband, Bobby Reinard, of Lake Gaston; one grandson, Jamie and wife, Delana Reinard; one great-granddaughter, Ellie Reinard, of Winston-Salem; a sister, Jean Carson, of Morganton; and a brother, Rufus “Buddy” and wife, Margaret Davis, of Wake Forest; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mable P. Davis and daughter, Sandy Davis; brothers, Cecil “Bones”, Foster “Bill”, Joseph “J.B”, Vernon, Wilbur “Curly”, Richard, Alpheous “Stump”, and a sister, Joyce.
Funeral services will be held Jan. 24 at 12 p.m. at Kalas Funeral Home in Oxon Hill, Md. Burial will follow in Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery in Maryland.
