James Wallace Watkins, 76, of Rolesville, died peacefully at his home, Oct. 5, 2013. He was born Feb. 16, 1937 in Wake County to the late Fred Watkins and Minnie Minor Watkins.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Harris and Landy Woodlief Massey officiating. Burial was in Beulah Christian Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Watkins is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Andelia Pearce Watkins; children, Jacquelyn Watkins and husband Bob Beauchamp of St. Cloud, Fla., Cindy Walsh and husband Dan of Zebulon and Lukus Watkins and wife Lorie Bailey of Youngsville; grandchildren, Ashley Walsh Ziebell and husband Paul, Daniel, Molly and Erin Walsh; brothers, Charles Watkins of Zebulon and Rudolph Watkins and husband Frances of Clayton.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis Watkins and Douglas Watkins; sister, Kathleen Gregory. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends that were like family.

Pallbearers were Dan Walsh, Dwight Woodlief, Charles Mitchell, Michael Bailey, Bobby Stevens, James Womble, Reed Mangum, and Allen Mitchell.
