Jeremiah Daniel Baker, 17, of Wake Forest, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at his home. He was born in Williamsport, Penn., and was mostly homeschooled before attending Canton High School in Canton, Penn. After moving to North Carolina he was homeschooled and also attended Granville Early College. Jeremiah was active with the Wake Forest Homeschool Football League and worked at Bojangles in Creedmoor.
Jeremiah was shy and quiet as a youngster. He grew into a wonderful, strong, and confident adolescent. He was very generous and a good friend to his siblings. He respected and honored his parents and loved God. He really liked works by Christian rap artist LeCrae. His passion was football — especially the Steelers, and Emily was his world.
Jeremiah is survived by his parents, William “Bill” Baker and Helen Stine Baker, of Wake Forest; siblings, Gabrielle and husband, Jonathan Wilcox, of Canada; Burt and wife, Alicia, of Penn.; Isaac and wife, Rachel, of N.J.; Bryce, of N.C.; Nathanael and Malachi, both of Penn.; Desiree and Eli, both of N.C.; grandparents, Evelyn Izzo, of Fla., and Ronald Baker, of Penn.; nieces and nephews, Caleb, Addison, Jaxon, Isaiah and Dana-Leigh; and special friends, Mitchell and Emily. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Stine and Bridget Baker.
Funeral services were held Feb. 24, 2014, at Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville, with Pastor Richard Mills and Pastor Don Colton officiating.
