Scholarships awarded

•Lindsey Kunz of Wake Forest was awarded a $500 Vinson Orthodontics scholarship for academic achievement and participation in community and school activities.

•Milton Yates Brannan and Jessica Lee Alston, both of Bunn High, were awarded $500 scholarships by the Pilot Lions Club.

Whiz kids honored

•Mark D. Edwards of Wake Forest, Samantha J. Rowe of Youngsville and Taylor S. Hunter and Taylor K. Gordon both of Raleigh were named to the dean’s list at Virginia Tech for the spring semester.
•Aakash Gihwala of Wake Forest and Chelsea Fuller, Kyle Manweiler and Yash Mehta, all of Raleigh were named to the dean’s list at Georgia Tech for the spring semester.
•Caroline Hostetley of Wake Forest was named to the dean’s list at Morrisville State College for the spring semester.

Edmunds attends national conference

Chase Edmunds, N.C. governor for youth and government, recently attended the national affairs conference in Black Mountain. The annual conference is held July 4 for students active in youth government.
Edmunds led a delegation of 25 students and drafted and introduced legislation to student government committees.
Edmunds is a rising senior at North Raleigh Christian Academy.
