Larry Donald Boan, 66, of Wake Forest, died Friday Sept. 13, 2013 at the VA hospital in Durham due to Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, complications from the Vietnam War. Larry was a local business owner, residential builder and land developer. He had built residential subdivisions in Wake, Franklin and Granville Counties. He loved NASCAR racing and for a time owned Boan Racing a late model team with his son as his driver. He also loved taking his BMW Motorcycle out for long rides.
A graveside funeral service was held 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery.
Larry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Beverly Medlin Boan; twin sons, Lawrence and Miles Boan of the home; his sister, Glennie McDonald; brothers, James and Bob Boan; many nephews and cousins and also the beloved family pet, Beefy.
