RALEIGH — It’s time again to pick up some of your favorite books, at great prices, at the annual Wake County Public Libraries Book Sale.
The sale runs May 4-7 at the N.C. State Fairgrounds Exposition Center, located at 1025 Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh. Approximately 200,000 books will be available for purchase, with proceeds going toward new books for Wake County libraries.
The book sale will take place:
•Thursday, May 4, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
•Friday, May 5, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
•Saturday, May 6, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
•Sunday, May 7, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Thursday and Friday, hardbound books are priced at $4, and paperbacks are $1. The price for children’s books is $2.
On Saturday, the books are half-price, and on Sunday, a box of books can be purchased for $3.
Cash, checks and major credit cards will be accepted, and patrons are encouraged to bring hand trucks or book carts to haul large purchases.
The books for sale have been donated to the libraries throughout the past year or have been removed from the libraries’ shelves due to decreased demand. Any books remaining after the sale will be shredded for recycling.
Library staff rely on volunteers to help run a successful book sale. Anyone interested in participating can apply to volunteer online. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old, and each volunteer shift lasts two hours.
Volunteers who complete four hours of service will be given a $10 book voucher, which must be used during the 2017 book sale.
