LOUISBURG — The Cannon Foundation has awarded Louisburg College a grant of $50,000 to help support renovations to the music wing of the Ray Hodges Fine Arts Complex.
The Ray Hodges Fine Arts Complex is named in memory of a former trustee of the College and lifelong Louisburg resident. Earlier, the Art Building portion of the Complex was extensively renovated, and last summer a new studio building was added.
Improvements to the music wing, originally built in 1974, include new HVAC, restrooms, flooring, equipment and furnishings, and they represent the final phase of the $900,000 project.
Established in 1943 by Charles A. Cannon, President and Chairman of Cannon Mills Company, and located in Concord, N.C., The Cannon Foundation is one of North Carolina’s largest independent foundations.
