Macon “Bill” Barham, 88, of Youngsville, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Duke Raleigh Hospital. Mr. Barham was born in Wake County, the son of the late Robert Ivan Barham and Repsie Frazier Barham. He was a retired Seaman First Class with the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After serving his country for 22 years, he went to work for Adams Products and retired after 30 years. He was a charter member of the Amran Shriners Temple in Raleigh and was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church for over 30 years.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Union Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Greg Lawson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Barham is survived by his wife of 61 years, Phyllis Kelley Barham; sons, Jeff Barham and wife, Janet, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Kelley Barham and wife, Stacey, of Shaw AFB, S.C.; sister, Juanita Woodall and husband, Milton, of Bracey, Va.; brothers, Lee Barham and wife, Geneva, of Canton, N.C.; and Leamon Barham and wife, Jean, of Youngsville; grandchildren, Macon Barham and wife, Sarah, Morgan Barham and Mackenzie Barham. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Nolan, and Frances Morton and by his brothers, Charlie Justice, James Barham, Wesley Barham, William Barham, George Barham and Elmo Barham.
