Joan Carol Thomas receives CPA
Joan Carol Thomas of Wake Forest is one of 109 applicants certified as a public accountant April 21. Applicants for CPA licensure are required to pass the Uniform CAP Examination and satisfy the education, work experience and moral character requirements of the board.
A CPA licensed to practice in North Carolina must complete at least 40 hours of continuing professional education (including two hours of ethics education) each year to be eligible for renewal of his or her CPA license. North Carolina has more than 20,000 actively licensed CPAs.
