SunStone Water Group expected to employ up to 200 over next three years.
YOUNGSVILLE — Franklin County has welcomed a new business to the Youngsville area. SunStone Water Group, which constructs state-of-the-art, self-contained water filtration units, will operate in the original Flextronics 1 building beside Eaton Corporation in the Youngsville Commerce Center.
For a number of months, the county’s Economic Development Commission (EDC) has worked to secure and locate SunStone in Franklin County, according to a statement from Ronnie Goswick, EDC Director. SunStone creates their clean water units that are housed in 40-foot temperature-controlled containers. This product can convert any type of polluted or unusable water into clean water for business or personal use, writes Goswick.
SunStone currently employes 32 people and expects to increase that number to 200 over the next three years, offering health and other benefits. The current average salary of SunStone employees is $45,000 per year. SunStone employees range from scientists and engineers to manufacturing assemblers. Training grants valued from $1,100 to $1,300 per eligible employee have been established through the state’s community college system.
SunStone will host an open house in June or July. For more information, see sunstonewater.com or contact Goswick at 919-554-1863.
