RALEIGH — Neuse Christian’s third grade class, taught by Michelle Hill, received a grant from Pets in the Classroom for an aquarium. Hill chose fish as, “Fish are active, soothing to watch and we don’t have to worry so much about allergies,” she said.
Martin agreed that fish were the right choice. “They are really interesting, he said. “When we finish our work, we can go to the tank and watch them.”
Grants like this one are available to teachers through The Pet Care Trust, whose goal it is to help promote public understanding regarding the value of and right to enjoy companion animals. For more information see petsintheclassroom.org.
