Pendergrass brings home gold
Pendergrass Academy of Martial Arts in Wake Forest took the U.S Grappling Submission Only Tournament (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) by storm. Bringing home nine gold, six silver, and three bronze medals in the NoGi juvenile division, and 10 gold, six silver, and seven bronze medals in the Gi juvenile division.
Between the 24 Pendergrass students that competed in the juvenile divisions ranging from 6 to 15 years old, Pendergrass Academy of Martial Arts came in 1st Place for overall school points at the tournament that took place July 29 at the Raleigh Convention Center.
recognized for safety milestone
Hamlin T. Raney III of Wake Forest has been recognized by the 158,000 member Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) for seven years of safe, accident-free driving of a commercial tractor-trailer.
The OOIDA Safe Driving Award Program is sponsored by Shell Rotella and is designed to recognize and reward OOIDA members for their safe, accident-free years while operating a commercial vehicle. Safe driving awards are available to all eligible OOIDA members who qualify based upon the number of years for which the member has operated a commercial vehicle without being involved in a preventable accident.
Goldfish Swim School begins construction
Goldfish Swim School, a water safety and swim lessong school offering infant and child swim lessons, has begun construction in Wakefield, with an eye to open in late 2017.
Located at 14660 Falls of Neuse, Goldfish Swim School will serve families in Wake Forest, North Raleigh and surrounding areas. Goldfish provides swim instruction to children ages 4 months to 12 years old and families with kids of different ages and skill levels can have all of their swimmers in the pool during the same half hour time slot and schedule makeup classes when necessary.

Kima Commercial names lead
Kima Commercial, LLC of Wake Forest, announced hiring Dan Tilley as lead commercial broker. Tilley adds a combined 18 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining Kima Commercial LLC, Tilley had founded a successful real estate and general contracting practice serving the wireless telecommunications industry, served as Director of Corporate Real Estate for national and regional corporations in the advertising and hotel industries, and studied property and public land use controls at Campbell University School of Law.
