Patricia Haley Anderson, 83, of Wake Forest, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 at her home. An Atlanta native, Pat attended Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, and was a high school English teacher in Fayetteville and Robersonville. She received a master’s degree in English from East Carolina University. Pat provided volunteer services for many organizations, but was especially dedicated to prison ministry. She was a published author and poet, an inspirational speaker, and a favorite soloist in many churches over the years.
A celebration of Anderson’s life was held January 1, 2014 in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Robersonville Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Brown Collins and husband, Frank W., of Hope Mills, Joy Brown Forrest and husband, Nathan R., of Youngsville, and Paula Brown Wetherington and husband, William R., of New Bern; grandchildren, Carlton Faircloth of Fayetteville, Haley Elizalde of Fort Lee, Va., Hannah Bunnell of Wake Forest, Michael Harris of New Bern, Timothy Forrest of Wake Forest, Michael Forrest of Winter Park, Fla., and April Forrest of Sneads Ferry.
Anderson was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene M. Haley and Annabel Bayley Haley; her husband, E.G. Anderson; and her son, Cecil Eugene Brown.
