Patrick Lee “Rick” Williams, 70, of Wake Forest, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at his home. He was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Sept. 21, 1943, to the late Richard Carlisle Williams and Patricia Ann Graves Brown.
Mr. Williams received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and his Doctorate from Northern Illinois University. He was an assistant professor at N.C. State until 1995, and in that year started his own software company, Polytheoretics Inc. Mr. Williams was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Martha Williams; daughter, Jennifer Bond and husband, Michael, of Clermont, Fla.; son, Patrick S. Williams, of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Leslie Holder, of Greensboro; brother, Richard Williams and wife, Mara, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; along with three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held Saturday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Franklinton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1245 Mt. Olive Church Road, Franklinton, N.C. 27525. Friends may visit with the family at the church following the service.
