Patsy Pearce Whitt, 79, of Raleigh, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, at her home, in the arms of her husband with her family by her side. She was born July 20, 1934, in Wake County, the daughter of the late W. Worth and Burma Pearce. Mrs. Whitt was a member of North Raleigh Chapel, where she sang in the choir and was a vital member of the women’s ministries, supporting missionaries around the world.
Patsy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Marvin W. Whitt; daughters, Wanda Whitt Eaton and husband, Randy, of Wake Forest, and Marti Whitt Fennema and husband, Anthony, of Raleigh; sister, Karen P. Wyan, of London, Ky.; grandchildren, Scarlett and Worth-Wade Eaton, of Raleigh; Jessica Donar and husband, Brett, of Raleigh; Whittney Scarpace and husband, Andy, of Youngsville; and Tyler and Tiffani Carlton, of Raleigh; and great-grandchildren, Rylan and Lucille Scarpace. She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Brahm Copeland Scarpace.
A celebration of her life was held June 16 in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with Jimmy Flythe officiating. Burial was in the Mangum Family Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to North Raleigh Chapel c/o Missions, in honor of Patsy Whitt.
