Organizers of the N.C. Renaissance Faire wanted a more bucolic setting for the event so in spring 2009, they moved it from the State Fairgrounds to the former Wake Forest Golf Course. Neighborhood controversies aside, seeing knghts in armor battling it out with only trees and fields as far as the eye can see was a splendid experience.
