Rolesville town manager Matt Livingston tendered his resignation last week.
Mayor Frank Eagles confirmed Livingston’s resignation early Friday morning.
According to Eagles, Livingston offered a verbal resignation, with no written statement.
Livingston’s decision to leave his post occurred because “the board had directions they wanted to go and he had a different direction that he wanted to go,” said Eagles.
His resignation comes on the heels of numerous executive sessions called by the board on personnel matters.
Hired in 2002, Livingston was Rolesville’s second town manager. Prior to joining the town of Rolesville staff, he was Franklin County’s Planning and Inspections director.
