Concert helps Haiti

February 4, 2010

Three local bands are going global with a benefit concert Friday night at Crossroads Entertainment to aid relief efforts in Haiti.
Warren Sumner, bassist for 1980s band Suicide Blonde, decided to use his talents and his band’s popularity to raise money for the American Red Cross’s Haiti relief efforts in the aftermath of the Jan. 12 earthquake impacting over three million people.
“It’s impossible to watch the heartbreaking footage of the tragedy in Haiti and not be compelled to do something to help,” said Sumner.
On Friday, Feb. 5, Suicide Blonde will take the stage at Crossroads Entertainment with fellow ’80s bands, Effigy and female AC/DC tribute band Back Seat Confidential for the ’80s for Haiti concert.
“We’re thrilled to be able to provide an exciting lineup of bands, predominately performing retro songs from the ’80s and ’90s — at a price which is equivalent to two fast-food value meals,” said Sumner.
