Ellis Paul Vaughan Jr., 65
Ellis Paul Vaughan Jr., 65, of Siler City died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at Chatham Hospital. Vaughan was born in Franklin County on May 3, 1947, the son of the late Ellis and Elizabeth (Shearin) Vaughan Sr. He was Baptist and worked as a welder at Basic Metal and Contract Steel.
Vaughan is survived by his wife, Nancy Vaughan; two daughters, Michelle Boone of Staley and Kim Scotton Departa of Siler City; a son, James Springfield of Arizona; three sisters, Ruby Champion of Youngsville, Virginia Ripley of Swansboro and Gloria Cooke of Durham; a brother, Danny Vaughan of Clayton; and several grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Veronica Gleeson.
A memorial service at a later date.

Florence Y. Solomon, 73
Florence Y. Solomon, 73, of Louisburg passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.
Solomon is survived by two daughters, Alma Galbrieth of Greensboro and Linda Diane Ooms of Savannah, Ga.; two sons, James Solomon and Billy Solomon, both of Louisburg; two sisters, Alma Livemond of Easton, Pa., and Bernice Harris of Louisburg; a brother, James Massenburg of Louisburg; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 23 at Guilfield Baptist Church with Bishop Johnny Alston officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.

Darlene Long Powell, 82
Darlene Powell, 82, of Raleigh fell asleep and woke up in her Lord’s arms Sunday morning, Feb. 24, 2013.
Powell is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Garner and her husband, Bruce, of Raleigh and Sharon Collins and her husband, Fred, of Durham; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Horner of Greensboro.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, Feb. 27 in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial was in Raleigh Memorial Park.

Curtis Leigh Underwood, 77
Curtis Leigh Underwood, 77, of Rolesville died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at his home. He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Lowell and Daphna Underwood and was a retired banker. Underwood was a member of Rolesville Baptist Church, Rolesville Lions Club and the Raleigh Moose Lodge No. 1318.
Underwood is survived by his wife, Jean Underwood; a son, Michael Underwood of Rolesville; a daughter, Debbie Williams of Rolesville; a sister, Cora Hodge and her husband, Frank, of Rolesville; stepdaughters, Faye Barnes and her husband, Bobby, of Georgia, and Susan Fulghum and her husband, Mark, of Bailey; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Carolyn Bailey.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 26 at Rolesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Randy Bridges officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Young, Curtis Mitchell, Randy Baker, Gregg Baker, Neal Mitchell and Carlyle Woodlief. Honorary pallbearers were Rex Hodge, Dr. Ronald Shearon and the Rolesville Lions Club.

Edwin C. Eads, 85
Edwin Comer Eads, 85, of Wake Forest died Saturday morning, Feb. 23, 2013. Eads was a former resident of Ft. Washington, Md., and former president of the Oxon Hill Lions Club. He was an avid golfer and former member of the Heritage Golf Club and Legends.
Eads is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Thorne Eads; daughters, Deborah Reischman and her husband, Michael, of Wake Forest and Susan Carskadon of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Christopher Eads of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Howard Eads of Charleston, Ill.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A visitation and time of sharing was held Monday afternoon, Feb. 25 at Bright Funeral Home. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Md.

Donna Dawn Mitchell, 38
Donna Dawn Mitchell, 38, of Raleigh passed away Friday morning, Feb. 22, 2013 at Rex Hospital. She was born in Wake County and was self employed with Pure Water.
Mitchell is survived by her mother, Dee Mitchell; a sister, Danah Ronell Mitchell of Raleigh; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her father, Carey Ronald Mitchell.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Feb. 25 in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Woodlief officiating. A private burial was held at the home of her mother. Pallbearers were David Hamilton, Scott Barnes, Victor Clark, John Brown, Todd Mitchell and Dayle Eason.

Willena Moser Welsh
Willena Welsh of Wake Forest passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013. Welsh enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, fishing, gardening and walking the beach collecting seashells.
Welsh is survived by her son, K. Gordon Welsh Jr. and his wife, Peggy; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lex Marion Moser; and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Fernando Ramon Molledo Amandi, 96
Fernando Ramon Molledo Amandi, 96, of Raleigh died Monday afternoon, Feb. 18, 2013. He was born March 26, 1916 in Spain, the son of the late Fernando Amandi and Maria Molledo Amandi.
Fernando is survived by his wife, Iris Pineda Amandi; a son, Fernando Amandi; daughters, Iris Karas and Susan Amandi Garcia; sisters, Maria Teresa Molledo Amandi and Candida Molledo Amandi; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Angel Marie; a sister, Maria del Carmen Molledo Amandi; and a brother, Jose Antonio Molledo Amandi.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday morning, Feb. 22 at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church in Raleigh.
