WAKE COUNTY — Parents of preschool children and adults who work with young children are invited to a free literacy summit this fall to learn more about the importance of preschool literacy.

The session, to be held at 8:30 a.m.-noon, Sept. 7 at Rolesville Elementary, 307 S. Main St., Rolesville, will offer practical advice about how simple games, play and everyday conversations can improve preschool literacy skills and help create success in kindergarten.

The session begins with a free light breakfast and includes free children’s books, drawings for gift cards, free day-care service and breakout sessions that cover topics in detail. Topics include kindergarten preparedness, how to find the best resources at a local library, empowerment for ESL parents and more.

Spanish translators will be available during the summit and for each session.
