Raymond Edwin Wasser Jr., 89, of Wake Forest, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the Franklin Manor in Youngsville. He was born in Mercer, Penn., the son of the late Georgine McClure Wasser and Raymond Edwin Wasser Sr., and was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 31, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with Chaplain Alan Murphy officiating. Burial was in Wake Forest Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Wasser is survived by his wife, Virginia Falske Wasser; a son, Raymond Edwin Wasser III, of Satellite Beach, Fla.; daughters, Patty Wasser of Hudson, Fla., Mary Kelly of Brasstown, N.C., and Georgine Wasser, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; step-children, Joseph Meyer of Aurora, Ill., James Meyer, of Wake Forest, and Jeffrey Meyer, of St. Petersburg; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
