FRANKLINTON —Franklinton High School Bands are hosting their first Cow Pie Bingo Saturday, April 16 at Franklinton High School from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. A total of 225 tickets will be sold at a cost of $25 each.
Each ticket holder will be given a numbered 5-foot-by-5-foot square on a lined ball field.
A cow will be led into the area and the square that contains the cow's first patty wins the large cash prize of half of all ticket sales, which is an estimated $5,000.
The event will include carnival games, entertainment from local performance groups, concessions, food vendors and private vendors for shopping.
Some of the vendors include jewelry, arts and crafts and scented candles.
The local performance groups are the Franklinton Jazz Band, Franklinton Theatre Program, Louisburg Jazz Band and other student groups.
There will also be a corn hole tournament and regular bingo throughout the day.
This fundraiser will help the band program purchase and maintain instruments and uniforms, help with transportation fees and help lower band fees for
Franklinton recently purchased a new vibraphone and xylophone. Next year, they plan on purchasing new sousaphones for their marching band. Each sousaphone costs over $6,000.
