Robert Saxon Hill, 89, of Wake Forest, passed away at home Monday, June 30, 2014, after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Jean.
Bob was born in 1925 in Jersey City, N.J., the son of Harold and Nina (Saxon) Hill. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He graduated from Pace University and worked in finance for a succession of companies, including Bowater, Inc. as the CFO. He was both a deacon and an elder in the Presbyterian Church, serving congregations in New Jersey, Florida, and North Carolina.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, Jean, Bob is survived by five daughters, Cathy Hill, of Richmond, Va.; Cindy Hill, of Worthington, Mass.; Cricket Robinson, of Huntington Beach, Calif; Debbi Mygatt, of Ridgefield, Conn.; and Denise Ruterbories, of Raleigh; along with 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church, 7506 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, N.C. 27615.
