ROLESVILLE — The Rolesville 8U girls coach-pitch All Stars went undefeated with 3-0 to sweep the Tar Heel League District 6 All Star tournament and earn a spot in the state tournament held in Shelby, July 18-21.

This is the first 8U District Championship for Rolesville.

The District 6 tournament was held July 8-10 at Carver Elementary School in Wendell.  Rolesville defeated Wendell on Monday night 11-10, overcoming a 6-0 deficit on stellar plays including a 3-run home run by Addison Belcher and an unassisted triple play by first-baseman, Brookelyn Jenks.

Rolesville then had to defeat Bunn, the defending District 6 Champions, twice in one day Tuesday night per the double-elimination format in order to take the district title and advance to the state tournament.

The first game Tuesday night was hard fought but Rolesville was able to fend off Bunn 11-9, including a triple by Bella Lowery and an outstanding effort at catcher by Molly Beckett.

The second game went the distance and Rolesville edged out Bunn 13-12 in the end on a total team effort.
