ROLESVILLE — Rolesville High School gave out their athletic awards for the 2015-16 season May 26.
The athletic awards were given out to the most outstanding players for each sports team.
Starting with fall sports, Caitlyn Bell won for girls cross country and Matthew Mims won for boys cross country.
Allyson Nowell won for girls golf. Wesley Pritzlaff won for boys soccer. Mikayla Medley won for girls tennis and Ashley Stroot won for volleyball.
For winter sports, Jaylin Powell won for girls basketball and Ricky Clemons won for boys basketball.
Kayla Keiser won for cheerleading. Brandon Acklin won for wrestling. Lauryn Purnell won for gymnastics.
Wade Creech won for boys swimming and Damaris Jackson won for girls swimming.
Isaiah Walker won for boys indoor track and Lauren White won for girls indoor track.
For spring sports, Nick Honkomp won for boys lacrosse and Katie Nguyen won for girls lacrosse.
Alana Larussa won for girls soccer. Blake McShea won for boys golf. Brayan Tellez won for boys tennis.
Dean Pulley won for baseball and Mary Elaine Murdock won for softball.
Samantha Gilbert won for stunt. Arianna Purvis won for girls outdoor track and La’Keith Mobley won for boys outdoor track.
McShea won the senior male athlete of the year and Lauren White won the senior female athlete of the year.
McShea is Rolesville’s first athlete to play in a state championship when he played in the 4A boys golf state tournament.
White finished second in the 4A track and field state championship in both the long jump and the 100-meter dash.
