To the editor:
The Wake County Public School System Bond is a lot of money. I would have preferred that it would have been divided in half and voted on at several different times. With the fast growth in Rolesville and throughout the county, classrooms are needed.
To me, the most important issue is Rolesville. Rolesville Elementary is to receive several million dollars for renovations; Actually, to bulldoze the old smelly “wing”. It is to be replaced with a two-story modern building. This will help relieve the growth in Rolesville and also remove the mobiles.
I have heard people say that the present school board would squander the funds on high priced land and fancy buildings. Not true of the present school board.
After a lot of consideration, I must support this bond. Interest rates are at their lowest, the county’s need is high and Rolesville [we think we are looking good with new schools] still has a dire need.
To summarize: Not supporting the School Bond and voting against the School Bond would be a vote against Rolesville kids and Rolesville’s future.
