Wakefield Middle orientation
Wakefield Middle School’s orientation for sixth graders will take place April 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the gymnasium.
Parents and students may tour the school, meet staff members and get information for a successful transition to sixth grade.

Wake Tech presents musical
The Wake Tech Community College fine arts department presents the musical production Grease at the Northern Wake Campus, 6600 Louisburg Road in Raleigh.
The showings are April 9 at 12 p.m., and April 10, 11 and 12 at 7 p.m.

Heritage Elementary music programs
The Heritage Elementary School honors choir and third-graders will present a spring program April 30 at 9:10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The honors choir is an auditioned group that rehearses two or three days a week before school, and has performed at Meymandi Hall in Raleigh.
The third-grade show is Pirates!, composed by John Jacobson, and takes place around a 40-foot pirate ship complete with gangplank.
RHS hosts cow patty bingo
The first annual Cow Patty Bingo event is scheduled May 10 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Rolesville High School football field.
Tickets for squares go on sale March 20 for $5. The owner of the winning square (where the cow drops a patty) gets a $500 cash prize.
Purchase tickets from any RHS athlete until May 7, or through email@example.com. Tickets will also be available the day of the event before the cow is released to do its business.
Other happenings during the event, which is sponsored by the Rolesville Athletic Club, include raffle drawings, bands and dance companies, and participation by local vendors.
